Wooden Block

The wooden blocks are used to create printed fabrics used for making garments with traditional or contemporary patterns and motifs. The blocks are dipped in various natural and synthetic dyes and pressed on the fabric to imprint the carved design.

Wax

Acts as a resist, preventing dye from penetrating certain areas of the fabric. wax has a lighter density (ghanata) then the water, when boiled it forms on the surface of the vessel, like butter from milk. The unused melted wax is moulded together for reuse.

Wax Melting Pot/Gas

The wooden blocks are used to create printed fabrics used for making garments with traditional or contemporary patterns and motifs. The blocks are dipped in various natural and synthetic dyes and pressed on the fabric to imprint the carved design.

Stamping Table

A stamping table is a strong, heat-safe surface with a soft top layer where fabric is laid flat for printing. It helps keep the cloth smooth and tight, so the hot wax block can be pressed evenly. The cushion underneath ensures the wax spreads properly, and it also stops the wax from leaking into areas.

Sand

Printing is done on the sand-filled pad. It is used on a batik stamping table to cool the wax quickly after it’s printed on the fabric. This helps the design stay sharp and keeps the wax from spreading too much. The sand also gives a soft surface, which helps the wax go on more evenly

Plastic Container Filled with Water

To keep the sand cool and moist, artisans use a plastic container filled with water that has a small hole in it, allowing water to drip slowly onto the sand. This keeps the sand damp and cool, which helps the wax set faster and keeps the printed design sharp and clean.

Big Tanks

These are used for the purpose of washing away the wax on the fabric. The water in these tanks is usually hot in order to melt the wax away successfully.

Dyes

Synthetic Dyes and Natural dyes are used for dyeing process. Earlier they uses natural dyes were once widely used, made from plants, minerals, and natural mordants. But nowadays they uses synthetic dyes which is affordability, and available and come in a wide range of colours.
